To allow and encourage easy equitable access of the athletic training services for all intercollegiate student-athletes. 2. Provide medical coverage for all sporting events by NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainers. 3. To reduce the risk of injury for the student-athlete by utilizing injury prevention strategies. 4. To promote a philosophy of sport that places a high value on health, wellness and lifetime fitness. What is a Certified Athletic Trainer? The Certified Athletic Trainer is a highly educated and skilled professional specializing in athletic health care. In cooperation with physicians and other allied health personnel, the athletic trainer facilitates many of the integral aspects of the health care for student-athletes. The athletic trainer must be a well-rounded individual with the ability to assess and treat a variety of athletic injuries from a wide array of sports.
