Applied Music from El Camino Community College District is a Campus Associate Music degree that prepares you for a Vocational Programs career. El Camino College Music Department offers a comprehensive foundation in the theory, history, and performance of music to students seeking a degree to transfer or courses for musical training and enrichment. The department is organized through a structured program of training in a variety of solo performance media, large and small ensembles, music theory and musicianship, basic vocal and keyboard skills, and the study of music history. Students have the opportunity to participate in the analysis, interpretation, and performance of pieces of music in a variety of genres and style periods. Applied Music Music students have a unique opportunity to audition to study privately with El Camino College music faculty through the Applied Music program, This program includes one hour of classroom recital instruction per week, a weekly private lesson, six hours of on-campus practice per week, and participation in a major performing ensemble.
