Degree Outcomes Upon satisfactory completion of the certificate, students will be able to: Demonstrate an understanding of human development over the lifespan, and its application to individualized activities that might be provided to diverse consumer populations, such as those with disabilities and the elderly. Design and conduct a comprehensive and balanced activities program that addresses the needs of the participants, including budgeting, recruitment, and supervising volunteers. Demonstrate the critical thinking skills needed to create individualized plans using therapeutic and recreational activities, and provide appropriate written documentation of progress as required. Use effective communication and relationship-building skills with individuals and groups of consumers, families, staff, and community members.
