Law Enforcement Training from Durham Technical Community College is a Campus Associate Law Enforcement degree that prepares you for a Legal career. The Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certificate program prepares individuals to take the Basic Training Law Enforcement Officers Certification Examination (mandated by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission) and the Justice Officers Basic Training Certification Examination (mandated by the North Carolina Sheriff's Education and Training Standards Commission). To complete this program successfully, the student must satisfy the minimum requirements for certification by one or both of these commissions. In addition, the knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired in this course of study qualify graduates for positions with private enterprise in areas such as industrial, retail, and private security. The training includes a program of physical activity. To be admitted to the BLET program, a student must undergo a physical examination which must be completed before starting the program. Persons with felony convictions at any time or with class ?B? misdemeanor convictions within the last five years are not eligible to enroll in the program.
