OBJECTIVE Upon successful completion of the Business Accounting program, the student will have been in the necessary skills to understand and apply generally accepted accounting principles in both service and merchandise industries as well as corporate environments, to use the software packages QuickBooks Pro and Peachtree Complete Accounting in performing accounting responsibilities, and to perform 10-key data entry and run tapes on accounting activities. The student will also be trained to understand the operation of a Windows-based computer, to touch-type proficiently, to utilize business productivity software (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access), and to communicate effectively in searching for employment.
