In addition, all mathematics majors must satisfactory complete a junior writing proficiency examination, a comprehensive mathematics examination and a senior thesis. Mission The Department of Mathematics seeks to help students develop proficiency in logic, analytical thinking and a comprehensive knowledge of mathematical principles and concepts. Objectives 1. To offer instruction that provides a solid foundation in mathematics . 2. To offer courses which facilitate a fast development toward an advanced degree in mathematics. 3.
