The Massage Therapy program is designed to help individuals develop the basic entry-level skills needed for a career in massage therapy. Students will complete over 600 hours of training in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, Chinese medicine, ethics, business practices and a wide variety of bodywork modalities. This includes Swedish Massage , Reflexology and Acupressure. Students will have ample opportunity to practice their skills by working with clients in a supervised clinical setting. This is a two-semester evening program. During each semester students will have adequate opportunity to have hands-on practice of techniques being taught. In the first semester, students will experience massage techniques in both the role of the therapist and the client. Students will work in pairs to practice each new technique being taught. In the second semester, students will expand their experience to include giving massage to family and friends and, during the Clinical Massage class, clients from the community.
