Cosmetology from Delta Montrose Technical College is a Campus Certificate Cosmetology degree that prepares you for a Vocational Programs career. The Barber and Cosmetology Occupations department includes the Barbering, Cosmetology, Esthetician, and Nail Technician programs. Each program meets the state requirements for the Colorado State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists examinations leading to state licensing. The Barbering program is a 50 credit, two-semester program. Students learn the basic knowledge needed to provide barbering services such as hair care, shaving, nail care, and skin care. The Cosmetology program is a 60 credit, two-semester program. It provides basic training in hair cutting, styling, coloring, and perming; skin care; and manicuring, pedicuring, and artificial nails. Students are accepted at the beginning of the fall, spring, and summer semesters. The Esthetician program is a 20 credit, one-semester program offered each summer. Students gain basic knowledge in facials, skin care, makeup, and hair removal. The Nail Technician program is a 20 credit, one-semester program offered each spring. It provides basic knowledge of manicures, pedicures, and artificial nails.
