The small engine repair training provides competency based skills and knowledge beginning with learning the terms associated with the maintenance and repair of engines , shop safety, and the tools associated with the skills they will learn. As students progress, they will perform actual hands-on training on the tear-down and rebuilding of engines. This course covers engine operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and tune-up, engine service, and equipment operation and service on all systems associated with outdoor power equipment. The 425 clock-hour program provides students with a solid foundation in the tools, skills, techniques, and knowledge necessary to succeed in the small engine repair business. Upon completion of this course, students can enter the job market as a small engine repairman, or continue on to a full automotive repair and maintenance program.
