Graduates of Dana's history program succeed as teachers, professors, journalists, lawyers, politicians, business leaders, museum curators and archivists, and in many other careers. Recent internships have been with the Office of United States Congressman Lee Terry in Washington, D.C.; the National Park Service, Cultural Resources Division, Omaha; and at Making History , Inc., a historical consultancy firm in Omaha. Our professors' teaching is informed by active research agendas. Both have recently published books with national academic presses. Both continue to conduct research, write articles, and participate in professional conferences concerned with topics they teach. Dana offers a broad range of courses in American, European and Non-Western history. In a single semester, you can explore Spanish encounters with the New World or focus on America in the 1960s, study English constitutional developments or Chinese philosophy and culture. Capstone seminars provide students with experience of supervised independent research project involving research in primary sources and an extended writing assignment.
