Psychology from CUNY York College is a Campus Bachelor Personality Psychology degree that prepares you for a Psychology career. In creating course offerings, interdisciplinary minors, and programs of study in psychology , our mission is to provide comprehensive academic training that will prepare students for graduate training and/or careers in psychology while maintaining curricula flexibility to meet the needs of students with disparate interests and goals. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of a diverse student body and it aims to foster personal and professional growth, competence in the psychological bases of scientific research, and community service. Emphasis is given to students' understanding of issues of gender, ethnicity, culture, and socioeconomic class in psychological theory, research, and practice. Students planning to major in psychology must register with the department by the beginning of the junior year. It is recommended that new majors see a faculty advisor in the department as early as possible in their college career to expedite program planning and course selection.
