Nursing from CUNY New York City College of Technology is a Campus Associate Pre-Nursing degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) nursing program, accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and the New York State Education Department, prepares students to become members of the health team in health service agencies, clinics, community and long-term care agencies and hospitals. In addition to academic course work in the classroom, skills are practiced in the college laboratory and health care facilities. Approximately 45% of the clinical sections of the nursing curriculum are taught by adjunct faculty, who hold outside employment in a variety of clinical and educational settings. The faculty provides students with knowledge of the most current trends in the health care industry. A high school diploma or the New York State High School Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required for admission to the college. Students accepted to the clinical phase of the nursing program graduate with an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree and are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN).
