Doctor's degree Classics from CUNY Graduate School and University Center is a Campus Ph.D Classical Studies degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. CUNY Classics offers the Ph.D. degrees in Greek and Roman classics, with rigorous training in Latin and ancient Greek. Nine courses are available each semester through a consortium with Fordham and New York Universities, covering a variety of subjects in Greek and Latin literature, ancient history, and philosophy ranging from masters level surveys and composition courses to research seminars at the Ph.D. level. Courses of related interest are also available through the CUNY Ph.D. Programs in Philosophy, Comparative Literature and History, and the Certificate Programs in Medieval Studies and Renaissance Studies. In a recent study conducted by Academic Analytics, the Ph.D. Program in Classics ranked second in the country for the scholarly achievement of its faculty, according to a Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index. Further, in the "broad" category of Humanities, The Graduate Center was ranked fourth after Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. The rankings take into account scholarly publications, honors and awards, and grants.
