The mission of the Nursing Assistant Program at Crowley's Ridge Technical Institute is to provide a competently trained Nursing Assistant capable of seeking employment in the workforce and to further strengthen the basic, occupational, and technical skills required to become economically self-sufficient. Students must pass the clinical skills and written knowledge exam before he/she can be certified. Length of Program: 12 Weeks : 360 Clock Hours Approximate Total Cost of Program: $760.98 Enrollment Limitation: 24 Students Experts tell us that our population is growing older and the number of persons needing geriatric care will increase over the next ten to twenty years. With this great increase, there will be a demand for trained nursing assistants in hospitals, nursing homes, and home health care agencies. After successful completion of this program, certificates are issued. If students seek employment in long-term care facilities, rest homes, convalescent centers or hospitals, testing and certification by the State Office of Long-Term Care is required. A testing center is located on our campus. To enter this program, a prospective student must: Take the ASSET test and obtain a score of 30. (Special permission is required for applicants who receive a score of less than 30.) Be present for orientation with the Nursing Assistant instructor two weeks prior to class. Submit a copy of the prospective student's high school transcript or GED scores. Have a current health card. Receive a letter of acceptance from the Nursing Assistant Department.
