Crowley's Ridge College (CRC) established an Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) degree in 2007 to provide students the prerequisites for admittance to Teacher Education programs at other four-year institutions in the state. This will allow students to graduate on time if they follow the recommended course of study plans. CRC offers three AAT degrees: AAT in P-4 Education (Pre-Kindergarten through 4th grade) AAT in Mid-Level Education (4th-8th grade Math and Science) AAT in Mid-Level Education (4th-8th grade Language Arts and Social Studies) COURSES OF STUDY Each degree has a plan which satisfies the requirements for an AAT in each area. These include courses covering such topics as in the Introduction to Teaching, Child Development, Mathematics for Teachers , and Education Technology FIELD EXPERIENCES While accomplishing the coursework, the student will also have the opportunity to observe in the local schools in Paragould. These field experiences help the student develop the necessary skills to become a successful teacher and reduce the frustration often seen by new teachers in their first few years in the classroom.
