Classical and Near Eastern Civilizations from Creighton University is a Campus Bachelor Classical Studies degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. Programs of study The Major in Classical and Near Eastern Civilizations requires 30 hours of study, including the introductory and capstone seminar courses mentioned above, and 24 hours of upperdivision study distributed among the areas of literature, history, philosophy and religion, and material culture. Majors must complete three semesters of Arabic, Greek, Hebrew, or Latin, or demonstrate an equivalent ability. Career opportunities The majority of our majors go on to pre-professional study in the health sciences, exploiting the clout classics holds with admissions committees and the leg-up classics offers on the MCAT and other entrance examinations. We also have lawyers, a journalist, high school teachers, and the production manager for a law journal on the East coast among our recent graduates. Naturally, we send our majors on to competitive graduate schools, too. Since 2000, we've sent two to the University of Iowa, two to Notre Dame, and one each to University of Texas Austin, Emory, the University of Oregon, UC Irvine, and the University of Wisconsin Madison all with scholarships.
