Curriculum Description The Industrial Systems Technology curriculum is designed to prepare or upgrade individuals to safely service, maintain, repair, or install equipment. Students will learn multi-craft technical skills in blueprint reading, mechanical systems maintenance, electricity, hydraulics/pneumatics, welding, machining or fabrication, and includes various diagnostic and repair procedures. Industrial Systems Technology Program Outcomes Upon completion of all coursework in the Industrial Systems Technology Program, the student will be able to: 1. Display a working knowledge of the principles and concepts associated with electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems and utilization equipment. 2. Demonstrate safe use of tools, meters and equipment used in the installation, servicing, troubleshooting of industrial systems and equipment. 3. Demonstrate the ability to create, read, interpret, and employ construction drawings, ladder diagrams, and schematics and working drawings to install, service, troubleshoot and repair industrial systems and equipment. 4. Perform preventive maintenance, checkout, troubleshoot and repair of electrical machines (motors, generators, transformers) and motor control circuits, including PLCs. 5. Use the National Electrical Code to determine proper methods, materials, and protection for branch circuits, feeders, service equipment and general utilization equipment.
