Nursing from Corning Community College is a Campus Associate Registered Nurse degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. Mission Statement: "To provide an environment which enables students to evolve personally and professionally through the acquisition of knowledge and skills as applied to the practice of nursing ." Upon completion of the program, graduates will function independently, identifying potential health problems, providing health teaching and counseling, giving restorative and supportive care, and executing prescribed nursing and medical regimes. Successful completion of this program enables graduates to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurse. Graduates are employed in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, long term care facilities, physician offices and home health. Graduates can easily transfer to a four-year institution for their bachelor's degree . The admission process for the Nurse Education Program has changed effective 3/2/09. Once students have been accepted at CCC, they will be accepted directly into the Nursing program and General Studies program. There are prerequisites that need to be completed before a student will be approved to register for Nursing I or, for Advanced Placement Students, Nursing II.
