The program is designed to help the classroom practitioner develop an understanding of effective instruction and curriculum development. Completion of this program does not provide eligibility for the voluntary State of Michigan K-12 Building Administrator license. Students who are admitted to the certificate program may transfer a maximum of 3 credits, but still must complete at least 18 credits at Concordia University. If transfer credit is granted, the student may substitute EDU540 or EDU545 to reach the 18 credit minimum. Alternatively, students who do not have transfer credits may elect to add the appropriate reading course (EDU540 or EDU545) to their program to meet State of Michigan requirements for the professional teacher license.
