Graphic Design at Concordia is approached as an art form, with both conceptual and technical components in balance, and thoroughly considered. The department's design lab reflects this approach in that work areas for both computer technology and traditional studio are provided. Equipment includes a 16 station Macintosh design lab (for department-only use) which contains iMac's, scanners, projection system, laserjet proofing printer and connection for upload to color laser and large format color printing at the college's Instructional Technology Center. All stations feature www connections. The lab is accessible to graphic design students at any time during the weekdays, and during some evening and weekend hours. While we do make use of a variety of software applications, we primarily work with the Adobe CS Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver). Alumni who concentrated in Graphic Design now work as designers and illustrators in many locations, including Minneapolis-Saint Paul, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Diego, Boston, Denver, Colorado Springs, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and the countries of Canada, Mexico, Norway, Finland, and Germany.
