Applicants who meet all other admission criteria and possess a current, unencumbered license to practice in the State of Florida as LPN's may be given academic credit for selected nursing courses. Students in this program are enrolled in general education courses, nursing theory courses, and clinical practice. The nursing courses begin with Foundations courses that introduce students to the practice of nursing, nursing theories, legal and ethical issues in nursing, and basic concepts of patient care. Students then advance through nursing courses that include more complex concepts in patient care and specialty nursing areas such as mental health, maternal-child nursing and care of pediatric patients.
