Networking And Technical Support from Computer Technologies Program is a Campus Certificate Information Technology degree that prepares you for a IT career. CTP recently began the Networking and Technical Support Training (NTST) program which prepares graduates to earn industry-recognized A+ Certification and obtain employment in a technical support field. Successful applicants to the NTST program learn how to install, maintain, and troubleshoot computers and computer networks. They also receive training in customer service, documentation, and business communication. As with all CTP trainings, students attend seminars on working while disabled, job-search skills, and job retention skills. They will be well-prepared to begin working upon graduation. In addition, NTST prepares graduates with a variety of disabilities for jobs in fields that are less likely to be outsourced. CTP initially named this "A+ Certification Training," because preparing students to pass the A+ certification exam is one of the outcomes of the training. However, NTST is much more than preparation to pass a test. NTST gives students working experience with the A+ certification topics: Core NTST Training Preparation for taking the A+ Certification exam. Practical hands on experience building, maintaining, and repairing computers and networks. Onsite and remote Windows administration, and introduction to server administration. Troubleshooting Learning troubleshooting methodologies. Experience solving real world networking and computer support issues. Security concepts and practices. Customer Support Professional business communication. Problem and solution documentation. Software installation. Two examples of job duties that NTST graduates will be prepared for: Computer Support Specialists: Provide technical assistance to computer system users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from remote location. Provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems. Network and Computer Systems Administrators: Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system. Maintain network hardware and software. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
