Network Security Emphasis prepares students with the necessary skills required by today's computer networking security industry. Instruction includes five semesters of Cisco Networking Academy courses that lead to certifications in networking and network security , electronics and digital circuits, structured cabling, network security management and a selection of related courses such as Novell or Microsoft operating systems. This two-year course of study includes the skills necessary to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and manage network security infrastructure. Instruction takes place in a hands-on, state-of-the-art environment. STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES - Graduates of this program will have the opportunity to: Design the physical and logical topology of a network for security and functionality and distinguish specific types of network security threats.
