Technical Studies Information Technology from Community and Technical College at West Virginia University Institute of Technology is a Campus Associate Information Technology degree that prepares you for a IT career. The Technical Studies in Information Technology program is offered as part of a statewide Information Technology (IT) certification program. This program offers students a solid background in computer technology complemented by a full array of vendor certification training choices. The program is available in a web delivery format by community colleges throughout the state. Students may take courses at the local institution where provided and take those offered by other colleges via the web if not available at the local institution (coded below with the prefix "IT"). Students must complete a series of courses in four components: Component I: General Studies; Component II: Technical Core; Component III: Certifications; and Component IV: On-the-job Training. Component III offers the student a choice from a variety of vendor certifications. Course outcomes are assessed by exit examinations in each course.
