The program provides students with skills in receiving, storing, sorting, packing, shipping, freight handling, and controlling of products and materials using computers and electronic devices. In addition, students will be introduced to a variety of industrial lift trucks and materials handling equipment. General Entrance Requirements The student should be able to lift up to 70 pounds; walk, stand, ?be on your feet", bend, squat and ascend and descend ladders. In addition, the ability to read, do basic math, follow instructions, use equipment and computers, the ability to get along with others, and to "become a team player? are also required. Instructional Equipment Instructional equipment includes, but is not limited to, hand-trucks and dollies, industrial lift trucks (manual and powered), storage racks and pallet loads, steel shelving, scales, carton sealing equipment, stretch wrap and banding equipment, rolling safety ladders, carton cutting tools, pry bars, calculators, computer systems, and electronic devices used for bar codes, scanning, automatic identification and tracking of products and materials.
