Underwater Wet Welder from Commercial Diving Academy is a Campus Certificate Engineering General degree that prepares you for a Engineering career. Commercial Diving Academy is the only U.S. school offering an internationally recognized underwater welding program (Underwater Welding Specialist). In association with Speciality Welds, LTD of the United Kingdom we teach the Weldcraft Pro underwater welding program and certify the graduates through Speciality Welds. Course Outline A highly specialized training program, designed for commercial divers serious about obtaining high quality Manual Metal Arc (MMA) welding skills both above and below water. The course follows the guidelines under the European Welding Federation (EWF) with qualifications being awarded in accordance with BS EN ISO 15618-1 and/or AWS D3.6-99M. The training is designed to equip commercial divers with the skills necessary to produce high quality fillet welds. Students will be introduced to all the relevant theory associated with the MMA welding process, together with relevant safe working practices, etc. Each specific topic is covered by a lecture where the learning outcome is clearly identified. (These outcomes can be seen in the 'course module' document available upon request). Content An intensive two-week, closely supervised training course, delivered by one of the worlds leading experts, provides both theoretical and practical hands-on experience for both wet and dry welding . The course consists of a series of lectures together with written and practical assignments and ultimately culminates in an end of course examination and welder qualification test. The practical exercises concentrate on developing the skills necessary to produce defect free fillet welds, through a number of well-planned and proven exercises and the theory is covered by a series of lectures covering 9 learning outcomes, which include the following; 1: Safe underwater welding procedures 2: MMA welding plant & equipment 3: Underwater welding techniques 4: Preparing to weld 5: Electrodes & weld terminology 6: Basic weldability & common weld defects 7: Monitor & control welding operations 8: Quality assurance & quality control 9: Join steel plates using the three standard techniques View more details on Commercial Diving Academy .
