Behavioral Sciences from Columbia College - Columbia is a Campus Bachelor Behavioral Sciences degree that prepares you for a Science career. Behavioral Science is one of four undergraduate majors offered through the Department of Human Relations at Columbia College. The Human Relations Department began the Behavioral Science major in the Fall, 2000. All of the 38 semester hours of required behavioral science/restricted general electives are courses required in one or more of the other majors within the department. A degree in Behavioral Science prepares students for dealing more effectively with the dynamics of human behavior. Studentsare engaged in gaining a working knowledge of the impact of gender and diversity issues in both personal and professional relationships. Students are provided with opportunities to: further develop their critical thinking processes, gain a deeper understanding of diversity, provide a broader basis for understanding the array of and impact of gender issues and organizational conflict. In addition students have the opportunities to complete research projects under the guidance of faculty mentors, and have the opportunity to present findings at the annual Columbia College Collaborative Showcase as well as professional conferences in the region.
