Electrocardiography (EKG) provides the physician with information about the electrical activity in the heart. There are four courses required to complete the Phlebotomy/EKG Certificate program. Hlths 1110, Biomedical Terminology, provides students with a good foundation of the language of medicine. Hlths 1122, Basic Phlebotomy , provides students with theory and instruction for all basic phlebotomy procedures. Hlths 1126, Basic Non-Invasive Electrocardiography (EKG), is a highly specialized and technical tool for assessing cardiac function. Hlths 1124 includes 120 hours of clinical instruction in phlebotomy .
