Christian Leadership from College of Biblical Studies - Houston is a Campus Bachelor Religious Studies degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. The purpose of the 123 credit-hour program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Leadership degree is to provide students a biblical and theological base for spiritual growth and practice in personal leadership; advanced methods of Bible interpretation; increased dependency and confidence in God through an emphasis on the leader's unique gifts, abilities and past pilgrimage; a biblical model for leadership principles and skills; a biblical worldview and general preparedness for a life of vocational or lay service as a leader in the church, parachurch, community and/or business. Upon completion of the program, successful students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of: A general knowledge and synthetic understanding of the Bible, including emphasis on select biblical and theological issues. Know principles of inductive Bible interpretation. Appreciate the importance of background tools in the formulation of biblical interpretations. Develop a biblical worldview. Evaluate the beliefs of differing worldviews. Defend biblically one's position on major biblical interpretive issues. Demonstrate growth in one's spiritual life. Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English. Understand a variety of literary genres and arguments. Demonstrate quantitative, abstract, logical, symbolic modes of thinking and/or the exercise of logical reasoning. Understand scientific methods and scientific models of the natural world and an appreciation of issues related to science, technology and/or society. Understand historical foundations of the western world. Understand the complexity of the human condition. Demonstrate an understanding of the servant leader model for leadership.
