Master of Arts (M.A.) in School Counseling The Master of Arts degree in School Counseling is a minimum of 48 hours (postbachelor's) program and is designed to prepare professional counselors to work in elementary, middle, and secondary schools . Graduates earn a Master's degree in School Counseling. Upon completion of the program, graduates qualify for endorsement for initial certification by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission as a School Counselor (SC-5).
