Library Technology from Citrus College is a Campus Associate Librarian degree that prepares you for a Education career. The Library Technology program will prepare you for an interesting and stimulating library career. Library Technicians combine people skills, technical abilities, creativity and a love of learning to assist customers in fulfilling their informational needs. As a Library Technician, your skill in using the library catalog, materials collections and electronic databases will provide library users with easy access to the information and knowledge they desire. You will be trained to organize and prepare print and non-print materials for the library's online catalog. You will also order and receive new library materials, as well as maintain the library's subscriptions to newspapers and journals. You may assist in the creation of newsletters, displays or graphics to advertise programs. You may even discover that you love telling stories to children and working with young adults. Library Technicians today use computer applications in every aspect of the library's work. The Library Technology program trains students for paraprofessional work in elementary, secondary, academic, research, public and special libraries.
