Now Offering a Commercial Dance Certificate The Citrus College Dance Program prepares you for many career opportunities. You can seek to transfer to a four-year college and/or train for one of the following careers: professional dancer, dance educator, studio dance instructor, choreographer, director of a dance company, dance researcher, dance critic and dance therapist. Instructors in the dance program are professional educators, holding advanced degrees in dance and musical theatre. They have also performed and choreographed in the professional dance world, including Broadway and Hollywood. Citrus' new dance facilities include a state-of-the-art 40' x 60' dance studio with a professional sprung dance floor, full-length mirrors and ballet barres. Dance students have the opportunity to perform in a number of productions each school year. Highlights include both Fall and Spring Dance Concerts; the Sounds, Shapes and Shades music concert in the spring; Christmas Is; and Pop Show-all of which are performed in the Haugh Performing Arts Center. The Citrus Dance Company provides students with performing experiences with the Citrus Dance Company touring ensemble and out-of-state venues. The American College Dance Festival Conference provides an opportunity to perform and attend classes with students from a multitude of other colleges and universities, while taking classes from dance professionals.
