There have always been those who have cooked and prepared meals for private clients. Having a meal service has become affordable not only to the rich and famous, but to ordinary clients as well. Clients include, but are not limited to, those unable to prepare meals for themselves in their homes due to physical problems, those needing special diets due to health concerns, or even those who want to purchase services as presents to loved ones for such holidays as Sweetest Day and Valentine's Day, anniversaries, and birthdays. The Personal Chef certificate program provides culinary and non-culinary training in small business management, nutrition, and healthy cooking techniques. Upon completion, students will be eligible for certification through the American Culinary Federation and be qualified to operate individual businesses as personal chefs to a varied client base. Graduates are prepared to: Operate as in-home personal chefs for hire to clients Provide on-site small event catering service Prepare and package meals for specified, weekly meal plans Work with clients to provide individualized meal plans for special dietary needs Credentialing After successfully completing the certificate program, and operating a personal chef service for a minimum of one year, students are eligible to apply for certification through the American Culinary Federation.
