Paramedic Technicians provide competent care as they respond to medical and traumatic emergencies, assess ill and injured persons, initiate care within their scope of practice, and provide for continuity of care. Due to the expanding role of the Paramedic, they may be employed by ambulance services, fire departments, in industrial settings, prisons, jails, and hospital emergency departments. Upon graduation from the program, students are eligible to apply to write the National Registry of EMT's examination and to apply to the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services for licensure.
