Emphasis will be given to teaching the core machining processes of milling, drilling, turning, grinding, and an introduction to EDM (electro discharge machining) to a level that will meet the skills required of the machine trades. Students will receive training and retraining on advanced machine concepts to also include toolmaking. In addition, the department will offer related training for the machine trades apprenticeship.
