Landscape, Plant and Turf Management - Horticulture from Chippewa Valley Technical College is a Campus Associate Horticulture degree that prepares you for a Agriculture career. Students enrolled in the CVTC Landscape, Plant and Turf Management program are provided well-rounded horticultural training, real life experience and an emphasis on the business skills necessary to achieve a life-long career either working, managing or owning a sustainable horticulture business. The horticulture program provides students with many diverse experiences including the evalutation of evnironmentally sustainable management practices, plant selection, and landscape/turf management. The program also offers certified pesticide application training and four major program emphases. Over the course of the program, every student receives training in the following career components: Landscape Management - Care and management of outdoor plants and trees, landscape design and installation, landscape contracting, the ability to work either in residential or commercial settings. Golf Course & Athletic Field Management - Golf course superintendent, athletic field manager, lawn care specialist, groundskeeper, municipal employees responsible for public areas. Greenhouse Operation and Management - Greenhouse grower, nursery or garden center operator focusing on sales, plant care, stocking, and customer assistance, sales and marketing of horticulture products. Interior Plantscaping - Interior design, use and maintenance of interior plantscapes for the residential and/or commercial property. Vegetable & Production - Establish and direct the production of fruits and vegetables grown in the Midwest.
