Before proceeding to any 4000-level course in literature, an English major in any of the options must have passed the English Qualifying Examination and completed English 2100 and 2260. Literature and Professional and Technical Writing majors must also take Eng 2280 before proceeding to any 4000-level course in literature. English majors in the literature and secondary teaching options must complete at least five 4000-level English courses before graduating.
