The option in Early Childhood Education meets the guidelines of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Completion of the Master of Science in Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an option in Early Childhood Education does not lead to teacher certification by entitlement. General Requirements A minimum of one-half of the student's course work must be selected at the 5000-level. Successful completion of the comprehensive examinations. Completion of all degree requirements within six years. The Master of Science in Education in Curriculum and Instruction Specific Requirements Fulfillment of the general requirements for admission to graduate programs. Normally, students will be expected to have a minimum of three years of teaching experience at the time of completion of the program. Completion of either the thesis or nonthesis option requirement.
