Requirements: Five courses, chosen by individual students in consultation with their international studies advisor, which focus on a specific topic. Examples of topics: Ecology and Environment in an International context; Multinational Corporations and International Business; Children and the Family in an International context; Multiculturalism in the Arts, etc. The choice of courses should be interdisciplinary in nature and may be used to fulfill major and Ways of Knowing requirements. Although the course plan and focus should be finalized by the first semester of junior year, it is recommended that students begin their program in their first year. Foreign Language Competency. The student must reach a minimum of intermediate mid on the ACTFL oral proficiency scale. The ACTFL oral proficiency interview or an equivalent will assess the student's level.
