Physical Education from Charleston Southern University is a Campus Bachelor Sport degree that prepares you for a Education career. The Department of Kinesiology's primary goal is to prepare future physical education teachers and athletic trainers. Our curriculum is designed to develop students' cognitive competencies while exposing the student to as wide a range of skill areas as possible to meet NCATE and NATA requirements for teacher and athletic trainer certification, respectively. The primary purpose is to make our majors as effective as possbile when they enter the competitive field of teaching and athletic training. An important secondary goal is to develop alternative degree tracks such as exercise science, coaching and wellness/certification programs for the increasing numbers of students who are not interested in teaching. Degree Programs The Department offers the degree option: Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a minor in Secondary Education (certification program for Grades K-12) Career Options Graduates from the Department of Kinesiology have many career options based on their selected major and minor.
