A four-year degree through our teacher education program prepares candidates to sit for exams for teacher licensure in the state of Kansas, qualifying them to teach in Kansas public schools. For requirements in other states, candidates should check with that state's department of education . Kansas licensure is highly regarded among other states in the nation. To teach in Christian schools, candidates will be qualified to apply for certification with the various Christian school accrediting associations. How do I get started? Make application for admission to CCC. After acceptance, pre-candidates will file a ?Statement of Intent for Teacher Education? form with the education department and will be assigned an education advisor. During the Introduction to Education course in January of the freshman year, pre-candidates will make application for admission to the teacher education program. After acceptance into the program, candidates will work closely with advisors as they progress through their program of study. Candidates pursuing elementary teaching will graduate with a degree in elementary education. Those seeking secondary degrees will pursue a major in their chosen field (i.e. physical education or history and government) along with completing the professional education curriculum. Upon degree completion, candidates will be eligible to sit for exams to receive teacher licensure in the state of Kansas. Transfer students will be advised on an individual basis.
