The Nursing Program at Central Arizona College is accredited by the Arizona State Board of Nursing and by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Multiple exit options permit students to work in nursing as they proceed through the program. After completion of the second semester and a two-credit course, NUR 150, the student receives a practical nurse certificate and is prepared to take the Practical Nurse Licensing examination (NCLEX-PN). Completion of the four-semester program qualifies the student for the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree and for sitting for the Registered Nurse Licensing Examination (NCLEX-RN). In addition to the admission requirements of the college, applicants must meet the current requirements established by the Nursing Admissions Committee in conjunction with the Nursing faculty. These requirements include, but are not limited to: ? Competence in Math, English and Reading; ? Completion of BIO201 and BIO202; ? Completed program application; 500 word essay and personal interview; ? Current Arizona Certified Nursing Assistant; ? Required scores on HESI Admission Exam.
