New Vision-Health Professions from Cattaraugus Allegany BOCES - Practical Nursing Program is a Campus Certificate Health Administration degree that prepares you for a Healthcare career. New Vision - Health Professions is an innovative and exciting elective for high school seniors who plan to attend college and major in a health-related field. Students learn the theory component of: anatomy and physiology, health care occupations, medical terminology, as well as select diseases. Taught at the college level, New Vision is offered on-site at Olean General Hospital and Olean community or on-site at Jones Memorial Hospital and throughout the Wellsville community. Students will combine classroom instruction with observational clinical experiences in, but not limited to: cardiac rehabilitation, dentistry, dialysis, emergency department, intensive care unit, obstetrics, operating room, patient care units, pharmacy, sterile processing, along with other areas. Students entering this program should have completed three years of math and science (including chemistry), and demonstrated competence in all academic areas. Student evaluation consists of summative examinations, research projects, individual and group projects, oral presentations, portfolio, journal, and evaluation by professionals in the hospital and community.
