At least 18 semester hours of coursework, including the thesis, must be at the 400 level or higher. Please note: Once you begin registration of 651 Thesis hours, you must register for at least one credit hour of 651 every semester until graduation. An oral defense of the thesis is required. A committee of three university faculty members, appointed by the Department Chair and typically chaired by the candidate's advisor conducts the examination. The examining committee must agree unanimously that the candidate has passed the thesis examination.
