History from Capital University is a Campus Bachelor History degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. History is the study of the record of the human past. At Capital, students acquire knowledge of a wide range of historical eras and then develop the ana?lytical ability to assess and synthesize historical data and historical interpretations. The ability to interpret history allows us to acquire insights into patterns and trends so that the past can be made relevant to the present. Program Capital University offers a variety of programs to those students who wish to pursue the field of history. Students may choose the standard history major, or they may choose the history major and educa?tion through the social studies licensure program. By completing the history major, taking additional social studies courses and fulfilling education requirements, one becomes licensed by the state of Ohio to teach in grades 7-12. The latter includes an internship with a historical society, museum or archives. All history majors are encouraged to take advantage of the excel?lent internship opportunities, which abound locally in Columbus and expand to locations like Washington, D.C. A semester overseas is available through the Office of International Education. Careers and Placement History majors are valuable to employers because they are capable of organizing and analyzing information. With a history major, a student can enter many careers, including business, teaching, museums, archives, historical society work, politics, jour?nalism, foreign service, law or government work.
