Program Because the ability to read and write well is recognized as a mark of an educated person, the English department offers a variety of introductory and advanced writing courses. The study of literature and language is an investment in personal growth and an important part of a liberal arts education. The department offers two majors?literature and professional writing. Students may choose to have dual majors in combination with other disciplines. Education courses also may be combined with an English major, preparing students for secondary school licensure in integrated language arts. Internships are available for qualified students.
