Computer Applications from Capital Region Career & Technical School is a Campus Certificate Programming degree that prepares you for a IT career. Computer Applications is a one-year program focusing on business software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Publisher. Through this program, students may earn Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications, which is recognized nationally by employers and schools. They also may earn college credits through articulation agreements with several colleges. They also learn business math. Computer Applications students work on projects such as reports, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, announcements and brochures, and they put their skills to the test through real-life work requests. Qualified students participate in job sampling experiences at local businesses.
