Senior year is spent in a clinical internship at an accredited hospital laboratory school where students rotate among such areas as chemistry, phlebotomy, bacteriology, immunology, blood-bank, hematology, and parasitology. Learning is enhanced by small class sizes both on campus and during the internship. Clinical Laboratory data is the basis of up to 80 percent of all medical diagnoses. Advances in technology and prescription medical treatment, the mapping of the human genome, and the aging of America's population all contribute to the growing demand for clinical lab professionals.
