This program develops software solutions to meet program specifications in business and science-related industries. Programmers are involved in many phases of the software life cycle, including analysis and design, coding, testing/debugging, and integration and maintenance of large software systems. There are two broad categories of programmers: application programmers, who develop software to provide programming solutions for specific tasks in business, engineering, and science;and systems programmers, who develop the software systems that integrate and control software applications. Program Goals To prepare students to develop software solutions for business and/or science-related enterprises. To provide students with programming and software application utilization skills in both information systems and business administration. To provide students with the software development skills required to solve business information problems. To qualify students for entry-level employment as a computer marketing representative, computer operator, lab assistant software tester, or computer programmer.
