Designed to provide graduates with techniques in graphics and electronic publishing layout skills, the program focuses on the use of application software and hardware. State-of-the-art microbased laboratories are available to all course students. Program Goals To provide students with the skills necessary to analyze client needs and use a variety of specialized computer software, hardware and peripherals to design, compose and produce work using electronic publishing and layout software. To instruct students on visual problem solving principles, team development skills, and graphic production standards. To provide students with a working knowledge of visual elements such as type, illustration, graphics, photography, new media and animation so that the overall design is more effective. To prepare and guide the student to use his/her well-rounded portfolio to qualify for entry into a four-year college or university and transfer to a baccalaureate program in a computer graphics related field.
